How to get to the Gasteinertal

By car:
Travel – when coming from Germany – on the A8 to the border crossing Bad Reichenhall/Walserberg, in the direction of Salzburg. Before Salzburg go right on to the A10 / E55 Villach-Graz until the Bischofshofen/Gasteinertal exit. Further on Bundesstraße 311 via St. Johann/Pongau in the direction of Innsbruck/Zell am See. At the small town Lend Bundesstraße 167 branches off to the left towards Gasteinertal/Villach. After the tunnel Gasteinertal opens up. Drive through Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein further in the direction of Bad Gastein. After Bad Hofgastein (after approx. 2km) watch out for the deviation to the right (Hotelroute – red arrow), in the small town Bad Bruck. Turn to the left here. Follow the road for 2 km and turn right after the bridge via the Gasteiner Ache. After another 100m on the left Hotel EUROPÄISCHER HOF awaits you.
Important information for Winter holiday makers:
The hotel is (mostly) ways to get to in any weather - without mountain passes, barely an hour’s drive from Salzburg.
Coming from VIENNA:
Westautobahn (A 1) - From Salzburg A 10 Tauernautobahn – Bischofshofen exit
Coming from CARINTHIA:
Villach - Spittal/Drau - Mallnitz - Autoverladung/Tauernschleuse - Böckstein - Bad Gastein - in the direction of Bad Hofgastein - turn off to the right, in the small town Badbruck/Kötschachdorf.
By train:
ICE, EC and IC take you to all the major German cities speedily to Bad Gastein, e.g. Hamburg – Bad Gastein in 8 1/2 hours. From Bahnhof Bad Gastein the EH – shuttle bus takes you to the hotel free of charge - and of course back again.
By plane:
Excellent international flight connections at Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart.
